Pink Shows Her Country Side With Masterful Cover Of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

If you are a fan of music in general (or you’ve seen Netflix’s ‘Dumplin”), you’ve probably heard of a little someone known as Dolly Parton. If you are a fan of country music, you’ve likely heard dozens of artists cover Dolly’s classic song, “Jolene”.

In early February, the legendary Dolly was honored as the MusiCares person of the year, and singers from across genres came to celebrate her – including pop vocalist, Pink.

Pink is generally known for her pop-rock sound, so her (and Dolly’s) fans were shocked when she opened up the tribute show with Dolly’s classic emotional country ballad, Jolene.

In a video of the performance, Pink is joined on stage by someone playing the acoustic guitar as she starts off the song with the gorgeous melody we all know and love – and we’re pretty sure there’s a hint of an accent in her voice, too.

While most of us are used to Pink’s borderline-angsty sound, she hits every note of Jolene beautifully (including those hard-to-reach high notes during the famous chorus crescendo). Pink has proven time and time again how talented she is over the years, but this performance takes the cake. Not to mention, she’s honoring a legend that likely influenced her at some point or another over the course of her career.

The rest of the tribute show was full of artists like Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus. Even with all the talent that filled that event center, we still think Pink was the very best choice to serve as the opener. Well, second only to Dolly herself, of course.

Watch Pink’s beautiful performance in the video below and don’t forget to share with your friends!
