Dog Recognizes Mom’s Voice On FaceTime After 9 Months Apart.

If you’re a dog parent, then you probably don’t care what people say about whether or not your dog recognizes you and loves you. You know it’s true.

Some nay-sayers believe that dogs don’t have the emotional capacity to really understand us and know us on a deeper level, but those people probably don’t have pets. You know the reaction you get from your dog when you come home is different from the reaction strangers get when they show up. It’s just a beautiful fact of pet parent life! Oriany De Oliviera of Argentina knows a thing or two about that.

Anyone who’s ever had to leave their pet behind with loved ones while they study abroad or relocate for a new job totally feels the pain Oriany felt when she had to move away from home nine months ago.

Our pets are our best friends, so it makes sense that we turn into big balls of emotion whenever they come up in conversation! Sure, it’s nice to know where they are and know that they’re being cared for and loved, but you also know that you both would feel a little more complete if you were together.

One day, Oriany decided to do a video call with her pup Layla (Lali for short) to see if she’d recognize her voice. It takes a few seconds for the pooch to catch on, but when she does, she totally loses it!

“I have gone nine months without seeing my dog. Today I tried this way to see if she recognized me. I’m still crying,” she wrote on Twitter.

Confused, the devoted dog jumps up and down and faces the TV waiting for her beloved mama to walk into the room so she can shower her with love.

Sadly, some people online were mean to her after she posted the video, berating her for leaving her dog behind. The pup, however, is in her parents’ care and is happy as can be. Oriany knows that though she couldn’t take her with, she left Lali in very competent – and loving hands.

Oriany brought her point home on Instagram saying, “It’s amazing how you remember me. You are my life! I MISS YOU SO MUCH. Soon we’ll be together!!”

It’s clear to see in the video that no matter what people have to say, Lali clearly loves her human BFF. Check it out down below and be sure to share with all of the pet parents in your life!
