As you get older, the only thing that you want on your birthday is to gather your family and friends close to you.
Although former soccer superstar David Beckham seems to have it all, it can be just as difficult to assemble his family in one place as it is for anyone else. David and his wife, Victoria Beckham, have four children who range in age from six to nineteen years old.

The photo above was taken the night before Victoria’s birthday in April. Victoria was so excited to have all of her children together, she shared a few photos on Instagram and said, “The perfect day!! All 6 of us together.”
Getting the whole gang together has become more of a challenge in recent months. Brooklyn Beckham, the couples’ oldest son, attends university in New York City — quite a distance from the family’s home in London, England.

Though the family goes out of their way to gather together every chance they get, it’s not always a given that they’ll all be there to celebrate those special occasions.
When David’s 43rd birthday rolled around in May, he resigned himself to spending the day with everyone… except Brookyn.

The night of David’s birthday, the family went out for a nice dinner to celebrate. Children Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13, and Harper, 6, were all in attendance to help their dad usher in another year.
What David didn’t realize is that Victoria and Brooklyn had a BIG surprise in store for him.
David was facing away from the restaurant’s main entrance, so he didn’t even notice when his oldest son strode through the doors and headed straight for his dad.

“David,” Victoria can heard saying in the background. When he turns to see Brooklyn behind him, tears instantly fill his eyes.

“What are you doing here?”He asks emotionally.
“Are you okay? Happy birthday,”replies Brooklyn. He gives his dad an enormous hug, and they hold each other for several beautiful moments. “I just landed,” Brooklyn explains.

You can feel the love between the two of them! David was completely overjoyed, repeatedly kissing his son’s head and expressing his shock at seeing him there. “I didn’t know you was coming in,”he says. “I missed you so much.â€
The Beckham’s youngest, Harper, seems just as surprised as her dad by the unexpected visit. “I didn’t know Brooklyn was coming,”she says in the background.

Both David and Victoria shared the heartwarming reunion on their social media pages, with David saying it was the “Best birthday surprise” he could have asked for.
What a loving family! It just goes to show you that no matter how rich or famous you are, it’s the little things like seeing your kids on your birthday that matter most.
