Once in a while, a singer comes along whose voice is so pure, it’s positively angelic.

These singers are a rarity, even on talent competitions like “Britain’s Got Talent,” but they’re instantly recognizable when you hear them. Thirteen-year-old Malakai Bayoh has just such an angelic voice, but he hasn’t always had the best luck performing live.
Malakai’s mother insisted he join the church choir when she heard him singing at age 7, and from there, he joined Schola Cantorum, the singing group at his school. Unfortunately, he was heckled during his first live performance at the Royal Opera House not long ago. The audience member was banned for life, but the damage to Malakai’s confidence had already been done.
His audition for “BGT’ was a chance for redemption, and Malakai did not disappoint! He sang a stunningly beautiful version of “Pie Jesu” that had audience members (and a few judges) in tears. When he finished, Simon Cowell didn’t even wait for his fellow judges to weigh in.
“There’s only one word I can use to describe that: Golden!” he said, hitting the Golden Buzzer to propel Malakai to the live shows.
