Noah Muroff and his wife were recently on the hunt for a desk for his home office. They eventually found a desk on Craigslist which they bought from a Connecticut woman for $150. The woman had originally bought the desk from a Staples and found she had no use for it after a couple of years.

After their purchase, the Muroff’s brought the desk home but found it was too large to fit through the door of the room they wanted to put it in. They decided the best thing they could do was to take the desk apart and then rebuild it in the room. After pulling apart a few pieces, Noah saw a plastic bag in the desk. He noticed a $100 bill in the bag. Then something crazy happened – there were more bills… a lot more bills.
The Muroffs counted all the money and totaled it up to $98,000!

“If we didn’t take those drawers out, we never would have found it,”Muroff said.
Noah is a rabbi and believes in living an honest life of integrity. He and his wife called the previous owner who was taken aback by their willingness to give the money back to her.
It turned out the money the Muroff’s found was her inheritance. She hid the money and couldn’t remember where she placed it.
“She was so shocked and touched that anyone would call,”Noah said. “She said, ‘You could have kept the money and nobody would have ever known.’â€
Luckily for her, she sold it to two amazingly honest and good people!

“We both agreed that this is not our money,”he said. “If God wants us to have $98,000, he’ll make sure to give it to us in some other way.â€
The woman sent the Muroffs a thank you card expressing her endless gratitude.
“I do not think there are too many people in this world that would have done what you did by calling me. I do like to believe that there are still good people left in this crazy world we live in. You certainly are one of them,”she wrote. “I cannot thank you enough for your honesty and integrity.â€
Wow! What would you do if you had found the $98,000?
