They say diamonds shine forever. A recent surprise performance in New York City proves that Neil Diamond can still wow the crowd with his legendary voice and iconic stage presence!
In 2018, the longtime singer and songwriter released a statement announcing his permanent departure from touring. The reason? Neil had received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease – a progressive neurological disorder. He did, however, share his intention to remain active in the music industry through other creative endeavors.
But would he ever sing in front of a live audience again? Luckily for his devoted fans, the answer was a resounding yes!
On December 2022, “A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical,” premiered on Broadway. The show is based on the life and times of Neil Diamond himself. Naturally, Diamond attended the musical premier, along with his wife, Katie McNeil. After the esteemed couple had arrived at their box seats, Neil raised his mic and broke into a moving rendition of “Sweet Caroline.” The crowd reaction was simply overwhelming.
All in all, it was a definitely a night to remember!
