Church Rallies To Buy Single Mom Who Was Robbed At Gunpoint A New Car.

Nakinta Kendrick, a single mom of four, is a member of the choir at Tree Of Life Church in Gary, Indiana.

In November, she was with a friend at a gas station when three men with guns came up to them and demanded her keys. She didn’t hesitate to give them what they wanted, knowing that if she tried to fight, it would put her life in jeopardy. Left without a car, she wasn’t sure what to do, but Pastor Eric Boone rallied her church community to surprise her in the best way!

“When I first heard about the incident, it was devastating,” Eric said. So he jumped into action, and before long, he had raised over $3,000 for Nakinta. Why? Because the church is a family!

“We look out for each other; we pray for each other,” he added. “We love one another, and when one hurt we all hurt.”

After pulling the money together, Eric was able to buy Nakinta a fully insured 2012 Nissan Versa. When she showed up to the church, she was taken completely by surprise!

“I had no idea what was going on,” she said later. “I didn’t expect none of this to happen. It was like a miracle.”

Everyone cheered and clapped for the single mom as she processed what was in front of her. Even after her new ride sank in, she was still “overwhelmed” by their kind gesture and just how grateful she is.

As for Eric, he credits the church and God for making all of this possible. “Everyone I called wanted to work to bring [Nakinta] joy. … To see this weight lifted off her shoulder, and leaving church that day with that burden gone, God gave her what she needed.”

What an incredible way to encourage someone in need! Thank you to everyone at the Tree Of Life Church for going above and beyond to make this mom smile!
