One mom on TikTok recently decided to buy her son flowers as a surprise. This might sound like a small gesture, but there was more to it than meets the eye. In her video, Julia Ensign explained that men hardly ever receive flowers in their lifetime. In fact, there’s only one occasion on which men are guaranteed a bouquet: their death.
“Panicking and getting my toddler flowers because someone on the internet said that most men get their first flowers at their funeral,” Julia wrote.
The video shows her appearing at the front door of her own home with a bouquet of bright yellow flowers she’d bought for her son. After giving him the bouquet, she wraps him in a big hug. Her sweet gift inspired plenty of users in the comments to follow her example!
“I bought my husband flowers after seeing that video,” one person wrote.
“Okay sobbing and going to get my boys flowers,” said another.
We often think of flowers as a “girly,” thing, but expressions of love shouldn’t be limited by gender! Always make sure that your loved ones know how much they mean to you. That includes buying flowers for sons as well as daughters!
