Anyone who lived through the 1980s will tell you it was, without a doubt, the best time to be a kid. We rode bikes, drank from the hose, watched Saturday morning cartoons, and if we were really lucky, we got a McDonald’s Happy Meal for dinner. A lot has changed since the decade that gave us mall bangs and tight-rolled jeans, but our love for the Happy Meal remains. Whether you were a McNugget or burger kid, the most exciting part of the Happy Meal was the toy. In honor of Netflix’s animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, McDonald’s is launching a totally awesome new Happy Meal.

Stranger Things Fans Will Be Obsessed with the New McDonald’s Happy Meal.
Netflix and McDonald’s partnered to create a new Stranger Things Happy Meal that pairs perfectly with the new show. Dustin and his closest friends created the Hawkins Investigators Club to defeat the town’s latest enemy, but it needs help from Happy Meal lovers.
“Help save Hawkins (and McDonald’s) from the monsters threatening to take over by scanning the QR code included with every Happy Meal to play an interactive game where you come face to face with the creature,” per Netflix.
McDonald’s fans loved the idea of a new Stranger Things Happy Meal, but they have lots of suggestions.
“Don’t get me wrong, I am pumped about this. But hear me out: the happy meal cookies making a come back would be complete nostalgia,” someone wrote.
“Now if you made the ‘85 McDonald’s meals to go on theme that’d be raw asl,” another person wrote.
This person just wants an adult Happy Meal.
“I would enjoy it if @officialhappymeal would keep an adult happy meal and then one for the kids. Run the 80’s & 90’s nostalgia for the adults and other themes for the kids,” they wrote.
