At 15 years of age, the granddaughter of MLK has written a book of hope to share with the world. Her story honors the powerful legacy of her grandparents, Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, encouraging this generation to dream bigger and take action.

Yolanda Renee King is the only grandchild of MLK, and she’s certainly inherited his passion for inspiring others. As MLK’s granddaughter, she’s felt a responsibility to continue his work, expressing that, “He left homework for us.”

“We have so many things to peacefully fight for and I hope this book will encourage the next generation of dreamers to take action in their own way,” said MLK’s granddaughter about her writing.

Yolanda Renee King is an activist, writer, and speaker. She regularly visits schools, sharing her empowering call to action and hope. She’s also shared inspiration at the March on Washington.

The book, We Dream a World, came available on January 2, 2024. It’s a picture book that is sure to inspire those of all ages to consider peaceful action.

While MLK’s granddaughter is inspiring the world with her book, we all have a responsibility to continue her grandfather’s legacy.

There are inequities in every corner, and if we each show up a little bolder — we can watch the world change.
