Sometimes being an adult means realizing all of those dreams you had when you were a kid.
By day, Blake Weaver of Fort Worth, Texas holds down a regular grown-up job in a bank. But at night, he comes home to a self-made jungle gym hidden within his house’s walls that would make any 11-year-old green with envy!
Blake, who is known as @partyweave on his popular TikTok page, says he got the idea to build a hidden fort in his house when he saw the movie “Blank Check” as a child. He vowed then and there to build his own fun projects in his house when he grew up, and he’s been doing just that for months. He also shares his creations online; one recent TikTok video went viral with more than 20 million views!
The video brings viewers on a tour of Blake’s secret fort, starting with an entryway hidden behind a vent on a shelf in his walk-in closet. From there, you can crawl into a blacklight-lit room where guests are invited to write their names in glow pen on the wall.
But wait, there’s more!
Using a crawlspace, Blake crawls through a narrow tunnel into a space in his attic that he finished with walls, ramps, and a ladder. The walls are covered in street signs, and there’s even a slide from one level to the next. From this room Blake crawled through another tunnel (Note: This fort is not for the claustrophobic!) and emerged in a hollowed-out mini fridge in a whole other area of his house.
As if that wasn’t enough, the room next door contains a ball pit. Yes, you read that right!
Blake says there’s nothing better than jumping in his ball pit after a tough day at his grown-up job, but getting all those balls into the house wasn’t easy.
“This is not an easy task, to get 35,000 balls into your house,” he explained in a YouTube video. “First of all, you have to figure out how many balls you even need. You have to take the dimensions of the room, there’s math, lots of formulas, then you gotta find a supplier, you gotta negotiate, probably have to find another supplier because that guy didn’t want to negotiate, then you gotta wait for shipping, they got to put it on a crate, on a boat, which takes forever to get to you…”
At the end of the day, he says all the work was “totally worth it!”
Blake says it took him about three months to build the secret fort. He spent a few hours working on it each day after work, and he’s already got plans to expand! He offers DIY tips on his website and social media pages for anyone who wants to create a secret hideaway of their own. He promises, “There are endless possibilities!”
