You always remember the people who care enough to call when you’re going through a difficult time, whether they’re friends, family members, or local Taco Bell employees! A young woman on social media is sharing the heartwarming story of how someone from this fast food chain contacted her father while his wife was in the hospital. This worker wasn’t trying to sell him anything — she actually wanted to know if he was okay! Although she was probably the last person this man was expecting to hear from, her concern was truly touching.

In a sweet video, Ashley B explained that her dad is a caregiver for her mom since the woman’s health prevents her from being fully independent. One of the things he did for her daily was drive to Taco Bell and get her a soda. This man’s morning routine was disrupted when his wife was admitted to the hospital for several days. He wasn’t expecting anyone at the restaurant to notice his absence!
This doting husband must have left quite an impression while picking up his wife’s beverage each morning. Not only did the Taco Bell employees notice he was gone, but one of them actually went out of her way to give him a call on his cell phone! Since the man had been such a regular, she was really concerned when she didn’t see him for several days.
“They tracked this man down because they were worried because they hadn’t seen him, so they had to check on him,” said Ashley.
There were tears in the young woman’s eyes as she told this story. It really touched her that this Taco Bell employee had given her father a call “in his time of need.”
Update: this story gets even sweeter!
In a later video, Ashley provided an update: she actually visited the store location because she wanted to meet the person who had checked up on her dad. When she finally found the employee, she told her how much the phone call had meant to her family.
What a beautiful reminder that your presence probably means more to others than you know!
