Battling cancer can be incredibly lonely, but love and support from friends and family members can make everything a little less scary. Lourdes Morales was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and recently decided to let her adult son, Medina Wilmer, shave off what remained of her hair. This is something many cancer patients do to take back some control over their bodies, but it’s an emotional experience, to say the least.
In a video, we see that as Lourdes weeps into her hands, her daughter, Celyanne Morales, sits by her side. When the shave is complete, Celyanne does something that leaves the struggling parent speechless. She pulls out her ponytail holder, and her brother starts shaving off her full head of dark curls. When he finishes, they swap places! It’s all to show their mom this truth: “We got this and you won’t be alone, ever.â€
