Toddler shown in two frames sharing a hug with a turkey.

When you have a family farm, your children will grow up around animals. Teaching them how to care for and treat critters respectfully is an important aspect of farm life. On the Fairytale Farm, that is exactly how they are raising their children. And when their daughter wants to share a hug with a turkey, they allow (and even encourage) it.

One of the short videos shared by the farm says, “Let’s raise children who can identify plants and animals.” The video includes several clips of their children interacting with animals. Teaching children about our flora and fauna is important, even in our industrialized society. We may have shortcuts for tasks and chores, but knowing the basics is still important.

What a wholesome environment to raise children in! From an early age, children are exposed to animals and taught how to interact with them, as shown in this adorable clip with the family cat.

You might recognize some of the resident animals at the Fairytale Farm. They have a tiny horse, goats, pigs, ducks, chickens, and more. We’re pretty sure that all the animals get frequent hugs and lots of attention.

But let’s return to that adorable toddler sharing a hug with her turkey best friend. We found the Fairytale Farm because of this short viral video on social media. It makes us warm and fuzzy thinking about how these two are bonded. Sharing a hug with a turkey is an awesome way to begin any day!
