Depending on the church and denomination, a baptism can be a very formal affair. In this video, a pastor in a long black robe stands in a baptismal with a young boy, named Jordan, introducing him to the congregation and explaining the significance of baptism. It’s all pretty typical, pretty straight-laced, until little Jordan goes off script!
“He’s been waiting on this day a long time,” says the pastor, to laughter and sounds of approval from the audience. As it turns out, Jordan couldn’t wait any longer. Before the pastor can even get out the world “Holy Spirit,” Jordan takes over his own baptism shouting “I’ll do it!” and dunking his own face in the water.
It seems Jordan was either really ready to be baptized, really nervous to stand in front of all those people, or really cold! Whatever the case may be, this little boy obviously felt that the preacher was taking too long!
When he stands up from the water, he certainly feels born again! His hands are in the air and he shouts “I did it!” The congregation and pastor alike are howling with laughter!
This is certainly one Sunday morning no one will forget!
