Lindsey Stirling’s New Music Video Beautifully Captures How She Never Gave Up

A two-photo collage. The first shows Lindsey Stirling dressed to mimic how she looked on "AGT" in 2010. Her mouth is open from shock. The second image is of Stirling as seen on the cover of her new album, "Duality." She's looking down. On one side are peach/pink flowers cascading from her head. On the other side are butterflies in greens, blues, and purples.

Today, Lindsey Stirling is considered to be an innovative artist who is loved by millions — but that wasn’t the case in 2010. That’s when this budding star auditioned for America’s Got Talent. Although she made it to the quarterfinals, the feedback she got from the judges at the end was brutal. In fact, Stirling later admitted this led her to crying on an AGT bathroom floor, sure her career was over. Still, she carried on, garnering a massive following on YouTube.

Now, with millions of listeners across the world, Stirling is preparing to release an album unlike any she’s done before. This is especially true when it comes to vulnerability. We already have a taste of what this album will be like thanks to her release of the song Eyes Of The Untold Her. The music video, which you can watch below, takes us through her journey as a musician, starting with audio from AGT.

“If only we could all see our full potential; what we could become,” Stirling shares. “I think we would amaze ourselves. However we let disappointment, momentary failure, and the opinions of others discourage us.”

Thankfully, Stirling didn’t listen to those opinions. Instead, she continued to work on her craft, determined to do what she loves. Now, her upcoming album, Duality, will help others as they come to terms with their own doubts.

Lindsey Stirling Gets Personal With New Album Duality

The album will feature 12 tracks that are divided into two different sounds. Each song has its own counterpart, exploring the idea of duality within each and every one of us.

“… I think that at the core of our internal conflicts lies the enchanting paradox of being humans with boundless potential living, in a mortal world constrained by constructs like money, laws, and societal hierarchies,” she explains. “Over the past few years, I’ve embarked on a journey of self-discovery, delving into the magical facets of myself — my intuition, my capacity to love — and it was during this exploration that I crafted this album.”
