Craig Melvin had a scary moment on July 16, 2026. An intruder allegedly bypassed security at the Rockefeller Center studio and approached Craig, yelling racial slurs. Thankfully, he was taken away before anything happened to Craig or anyone else on set. But the incident left many people upset, including Craig Melvin’s wife, Lindsay Czarniak. The broadcaster told Us Weekly she’s happy the scary day is behind her family.

“I’m so grateful that everybody in that situation is OK, of course,” she said. “It was wild. But we’re just excited that no one is hurt and that they can move forward now.”
Lindsay Czarniak Has Great Respect for Craig Melvin
Lindsay Czarniak told US Weekly that she’s loved watching Craig Melvin’s career blossom.
“Watching everything that’s happened for him in his career has been just really amazing,” Lindsay shared. “I don’t know, we both feel so grateful. It’s wild. I will say, I think it’s really helpful that we both are in the business. We talk about that a lot.”
Lindsay Czarniak added that Craig Melvin reminds her of her own father in many ways,
“My dad was in the business,” she said. “My dad traveled a lot for work. But the one thing that Melvin and I are really able to support each other on is, if he knows there’s something that’s going to light me up and is a good opportunity, he’s always my biggest supporter to be like, ‘Go do it.’ I think you take that for granted if you’re not in it.”
Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak met while working in Washington, D.C. They married in 2011 and share a 12-year-old son, Delano, and 9-year-old daughter, Sybil.
