Many children go through a phase when all they want is to be like their big brother or sister. After all, how could anyone be cooler?
As the youngest of five, Lincoln Brown has many siblings to look up to, but because of his cerebral palsy, he can’t do things exactly like they can. Still, he loves football and dreams of playing one day like his brother Scottie does. Knowing this, his mom came up with an awesome plan!
Scott and Meg Brown, Lincoln’s parents, run a popular vlog called “House of Brown.” Ever since they started it in 2010, they’ve been documenting their lives and Lincoln’s health journey to bring more awareness to his condition.
Recently, Meg shared a video that featured a sweet surprise for her youngest. In it, she explains how much Lincoln loves attending his brother’s football games and how much he’s wanted a jersey for himself so he can feel like part of the team.
So the supermom got to work, contacting everyone she could think of at the school to have one made. After a bit of sleuthing, she ordered Lincoln a jersey that would match Scottie’s high school one. And as soon as it arrived, she organized a fun unveiling!
During one of Scottie’s games, everyone on the team lined up to see Lincoln receive his gift. The moment the younger boy saw the orange fabric, his joy made all the effort worth it!
Once he’d proudly donned his jersey, Lincoln ran through a banner his loved ones made just for him. And when he didn’t immediately break through it, the football players rushed to help him. If that isn’t a beautiful display of teamwork, we don’t know what is!
Even though Lincoln is the baby of his family, we’re certain his older siblings admire him and his gentle spirit. We certainly do! After all, his unwavering determination to be who he is despite his circumstances is inspirational.
Check out his sweet surprise in the video below, and don’t forget to share his joy with your friends.
