Man Spends A Year Earning Stray Cat’s Trust And Now They’re Best Friends.

When Lex moved into his new home, the previous owners informed him that there were plenty of stray cats around. They said he didn’t need to worry because they were harmless and wouldn’t bother him. Since he wasn’t a cat person, Lex followed their instructions and let the poor kitties be.

One day, he noticed a stray who was really thin and couldn’t resist putting a can of tuna out for him. The cat kept returning for food but would never let Lex come near him. As Lex came to like his little friend more and more, he made it his mission to prove he could be trusted!

The cat, who is now named Cinnabon, would come to Lex’s sliding door and meow for food on a regular basis. For a while, anytime Lex would make so much as a movement on the other side of the glass, Cinnabon would run away.

Despite Cinnabon’s constant rejection, Lex built him a tiny house to stay in when the Michigan weather got too cold. He lined it with blankets, put a roof over it, and set it outside on his porch to let the cat know it was just for him. Upon finding it, Cinnabon made himself at home!

That was the turning point for them! From there, Cinnabon slowly began to trust him more.

Eventually, the cutie was taking treats from Lex’s hand, but it wasn’t until a full year had passed that Cinnabon finally came inside the house. He has been living with Lex ever since!

Now, these two are best buddies, and the “not a cat person”can’t imagine life without his feline companion. Being the good dad he is, Lex gives Cinnabon the freedom to roam outside every day and takes comfort in knowing that his kitty will always come home to snuggle up.
