LA Authorities Issue Official “Unicorn License” To Devoted Little Girl.

A conscientious little girl in Los Angeles County realized that, before she could own the pet of her dreams, she’d need to contact the Department of Animal Care and Control about getting a unicorn license. Madeline sent her request to the DACC in a handwritten letter. She hoped for a positive response. As it turns out, L.A. County officials were delighted to receive the whimsical request!

“Dear L.A. County, I would like your approval if I can have a unicorn in my backyard if I can find one,” read Madeline’s message. “Please send me a letter in response.”

The DACC replied that, yes, Madeline could have the unique creature as a pet, as long as she took proper care of them. To that end, they laid out a few ground rules. For example, they explained that unicorns need “regular access to sunlight, moonbeams, and rainbows.” Once these caretaking details were established, the authorities were more than happy to give the little girl her unicorn license!

“Madeline wrote us a letter requesting permission to have a unicorn in her backyard if she could find one,” wrote the L.A. County DACC on Instagram. “It is always rewarding to hear from young people who thoughtfully consider the requirements of providing a loving home to animals.”

Of course, unicorns are pretty hard to come by. Luckily, Madeline received a special gift along with her certification: an adorable unicorn plushie. Now, she can practice taking care of this extraordinary animal while she searches for a real one!

Madeline isn’t the only child who’s unicorn wishes have come true. A 5-year-old girl in Washington asked her mail carrier to bring her one of these fantastical creatures. While she didn’t get exactly what she wanted, his gift to her was nothing less than magical!
