17-Yr-Old’s Body-Popping “Tin Man” Performance Has Simon Flabbergasted.

YouTube’s a great resource for anyone who wants to learn a new skill. Add some natural talent to the mix and you’re bound to go far.

Briton Kieran Lai learned enough about popping and locking and tutting when he was 13 years old, just by watching some online tutorials, to know he was on to something. Later, he joined a dance studio to refine his techniques and learn some new styles, and his instructor knew there was true talent in their midst.

So it didn’t come as much of a surprise when Kieran appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, performing one of his self-styled dances, “Tin Man,”as his audition piece. It takes its name, of course, from the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, and combines moves that were themselves influenced from manga and video games.

It’s a triple mash-up that makes this 17-year-old look like an animated robot who’s juiced up on one too many Mountain Dews. You have to admit, Simon does look pretty skeptical in the beginning …

But Kieran soon wins him over, and this hardened judge actually tells him he’s “one of the best dancers we’ve ever had on this show” and “a real genius.â€

Ya think? And Amanda doesn’t hold back either, saying, “It’s like you’re made of plasticine. The shapes you made with your body, it was like you weren’t human. It was amazing!â€

Kieran made it to the semi-finals before being eliminated, but nothing has stopped him from continuing to dance. He’s even appeared in some movies, including “All Stars 2013,”“The Mutants,”and “Stage School.”
