When Simon Cowell surprised the Voices of Armed Forces Children’s Choir, they had no idea what was in store for them.

Turns out they had been submitted to audition for “Britain’s Got Talent,” and Cowell was there to deliver the exciting news to them. The children, whose ages range from six to 18 years old, couldn’t help but scream with excitement when they found out! As children of those who have or are currently serving in the armed forces, choosing what song they’d audition with was an easy choice.

During the pandemic, a couple of the children wrote a song called “Welcome Home” in hopes of capturing how it feels when a deployed loved one finally comes back home. Between their beautiful voices and emotional lyrics, this children’s choir had everyone in tears, including the judges who were honored to move them forward in the competition.

Watch the Voices of Armed Forces Children Choir give an emotional performance below, and don’t forget to share.
