Parents, when was the last time you heard your child give a full-on belly laugh?
Most moms and dads will do just about anything to hear that delightful sound, so the newest TikTok trend makes perfect sense. It’s a simple concept: Parents ask their kids to record a video of them dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” but instead of recording them, the kids are actually recording their own precious faces.
As you can see, it’s all about the reaction! The little boy in the video above is positively beaming with joy as he watches his mom do a silly dance. He thinks he’s recording her, but the camera is actually showing the delight in his eyes, the adorable way he sticks his tongue between his teeth to keep from laughing out loud, and the kindness in his heart.
It’s no wonder that more and more parents wanted to try this out with their own kids. Just look at the way this girl gazes adoringly at her dad.
Naturally, not all kids are quite as supportive as others. It’s not all giggles and encouragement, and we all know kids have a way of telling it like it is, no matter how harsh it may be.
Take little Harper, here. Her mom asked her to record her goofy dance moves, and her expression told us everything about what she thinks about her mom’s dancing skills.
This child is not having it! If there was ever a kid whose face deserves to become a meme, it’s our girl, Harper.
In case you’re wondering whether parents of fur babies can get in on the action, the answer is a resounding, “Yes!” This dog-dad recorded his golden retriever’s reaction, and it’s exactly as adorable as you might imagine. More so, really, because of those crooked teefs!
He has no idea what he’s doing… and it’s okay! As far as TikTok trends go, this is one we love with all our hearts. Watching kids show their true feelings is always fun, even when those reactions are as brutal as Harper’s!
