Kelly Osbourne Opens Up About Grieving Her Father in the Public Eye

Kelly Osbourne Weight

Even though millions mourned when Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July 2025, no one felt the pain quite like his family. Photos of Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, sobbing with her children as they walked the streets of Birmingham, England, were hard to look at.

“No one knows what people are dealing with in private. I was just sad. I don’t wish that pain on anyone ever. And to do that in front of everyone just sucked,” Kelly Osbourne told The Sun.

In the months following his death, Kelly Osbourne lost a significant amount of weight and became the subject of harsh criticism. She recently opened up to The Sun about those hard days and how her life has changed since.

“I didn’t know that I looked like that until I saw the pictures,” she said. “When I saw them, I couldn’t believe it. I was as shocked as everyone else.”

Kelly Osbourne Said She Didn’t Intentionally Lose a Lot of Weight

Though Kelly Osbourne’s weight loss was quite noticeable, she told the news outlet she did not lose weight on purpose.

“It wasn’t an eating disorder. I just couldn’t do anything for myself,” Kelly said. “Eating made me feel like I wanted to throw up.”

She added that she’s gained 30 pounds in less than a year and is focused on a healthy life and her 3-year-old son, Sidney. Kelly admitted that losing her dad was very difficult, but she has found a way to look at the bright side of his death. Even though the last year was one of the most difficult years of her life, losing both her father and calling off her engagement to Sid Wilson, Kelly is happy.

“In so many ways, I can’t even explain to you,” she said. “But it’s also been really beautiful because I’ve learned that my grief is an honor, as I truly love someone that much.”
