Nursing Student Is Crushed She Can’t Buy Car Until Stranger Makes Sweet Offer.

When we’re down on our luck and struggling to get by, help can come from the most unlikely places. For Kayla Cooper of El Cajon, California, it was someone she didn’t even know.

The nursing student was working two jobs and borrowing vehicles from her family and friends to get there, but she worried she would lose both without a more reliable form of transportation. That’s why she headed to a used car dealership in February, hoping to find something she could afford.

Once there, she discovered a Corolla that she liked, only to learn that she didn’t have enough to finance the purchase.

Seoul Fields, an employee at the dealership, witnessed her emotional response to the bad news and shared the story on Facebook, writing, “She broke down into tears as a salesperson was consoling her. We all felt really bad, but there’s not much you can do.”

Thankfully, someone else was there to save the day! Dan Laguardia was at Auto City to trade in his Scion for a new BMW and overheard the interaction. He was so moved by Kayla’s reaction that he approached the salesperson with an unbelievable offer.

“The guy says, ‘Call your customer back. I’m giving her my trade-in,'” Seoul said. “She comes back a few minutes later, he signs over the title, and hands her the keys. While he sat in finance, she sat in the car crying.”

Kayla couldn’t believe what was happening. “I was shaking,” she said. “It’s a whole car. How can someone be so generous to give their car away?”

Little did she know, Dan had the perfect answer: “That gives her a bit of a jump start in life. Which if everybody did that for everybody else, we’d be in a much better place.”

Not only did this shocking act of kindness mean the world to Kayla, but it also made her life monumentally easier. What a wonderful reminder to look out for each other in whatever way we can!
