We all have that one book we remember having our parents read to us night after night (after night, after night) as kids. After we’ve grown up, many of us still keep a copy of that book closeby to remind us of childhood.
Katherine Crabtree, like all of us, has a favorite bedtime story but her dad made it up, so there’s no hard copy. When her 10th birthday rolled around, her dad decided he needed to do something about that.

Brad Crabtree and Katherine have that father-daughter relationship that every dad dreams to have with his little girl. As Katherine grew up, she (like all kids) would want to be tucked into bed and told a bedtime story. Eventually, Brad made up a story about Princess Katherine and a unicorn named Frankie.
The story became Katherine’s favorite, and she’d ask for it night after night. Knowing how much his daughter loved the story, Brad set out to create a physical copy of the book, which he titled “The Adventures of Princess Katherine”.

The book not only had their classic bedtime story in it, but Brad added extra stories to help his daughter through life. Some of the stories dealt with topics like bullying and sharing.

On her birthday, as a family member recorded Katherine opening her presents, Brad gave her the book. At first, she had no idea what it was and thought her dad had simply written a note on the inside cover. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was the story her dad had told her night after night.
Not long after her realization, Katherine began to cry tears of joy. Then, her dad started crying. Her mom followed soon after. According to Brad, “she cried, I cried, it got ugly”.

The video of Katherine opening her book quickly went viral. Now the father-daughter duo have tons of fans so, maybe we will all be able to get a copy of the book someday. No matter what, the original hard copy is in the best hands it could possibly be in. Katherine is sure to cherish it for the rest of her life.
