The version many of us know best is the one performed by Jeff Buckley, but because it’s such a stunning song, his rendition is just one of many that have been recorded by artists over the years. It’s a truly timeless classic. The track has inspired just as many dance routines as it has covers, and one performance by a particularly talented young woman will give you goosebumps.

Fourteen-year-old dancer Kate Aberger took to the stage with absolutely no props or fancy backdrops.
All she had was a choreographed dance, and for it to go over well, she had to nail the delivery.

Thankfully, that’s exactly what Kate did!
Audience members at the Showbiz Regional competition were totally blown away by the precision of her movements and how well they complemented the song.

Just like “Hallelujah” itself, her dance routine was soft but powerful. It was slow and languid where it needed to be and then full of force when the song called for it. That sense of harmony was important to her and choreographer Camille Billelo as they were nailing down the arrangement.

The final product was a gorgeous homage to a songwriting legend and his most famous piece. Unsurprisingly, Kate ended up taking home first place in the solo dance category!
Check out her entire routine down below and be sure to share the beautiful performance with your friends! They’ll definitely thank you for it.
