Growing up, things weren’t easy for Kanya, who had a tough life at home in Arkansas. Even so, she knew she always had someone to turn to: her neighbors across the street.
Kim and Rick Harp opened their home to Kanya many times throughout her childhood and even took her in permanently when she turned 18. Thanks to their love and support over the years, Kanya was able to put herself through school and blossom into the successful woman she is today.
As far as the Harps are concerned, she has always been a part of their family. But in December, they decided to make it official! During their Christmas Eve festivities, they surprised Kanya with adoption papers. And although she’s already well into adulthood and married, it meant everything to her!
