NBA Star Devastated When Pregnant Wife Was Diagnosed With Brain Tumor, Quits Career To Care For Her.

basketball star, husband and wife

When a couple makes the vow to love their partner “in sickness and in health” it is easy to think that you will both live to 90 and have your health intact forever. Unfortunately, sickness does come for some of our loved ones, and our commitment to them is needed more than ever.

One shining example of marital love can be seen in NBA star guard, Jrue Holiday’s love for his wife when they received devastating news. This year Jrue and his wife Lauren, who is a former U.S. soccer star, were blissfully expecting a newborn when it was discovered that Lauren had a brain tumor.

The New Orleans Pelicans basketball star decided to do something unexpected… he gave up his career to take care of his beautiful bride.

“My family comes before basketball,” said Holiday. The New Orleans Pelicans basketball organization announced Holiday was leaving the team indefinitely to be with his wife on September 4th.

The risk of having surgery at 8 months pregnant is too high so the Holiday’s will wait until six weeks after Lauren gives birth, to have the surgery. For the care of mother and child, they may induce early labor although they are keeping matters private for the moment.

The love between this couple is incredible. Jrue has shown us what sacrifice and family is all about. Our thoughts and prayers are with them through this difficult time.
