In an emotional moment captured by teachers at Oakfield Elementary in Wisconsin, a grandmother is about to find out that her 1st grade granddaughter will finally have hope for a future. The little girl, Natasha, desperately needed a new kidney but the donor list was long and her time was running out.

In an incredible act of kindness her 1st grade teacher, Jodi Schmidt, told Natasha and her grandmother that she would be donating her kidney to the sweet little girl.
“You? Oh my gosh!” Natasha’s grandmother says in the video before bursting into tears. “Here I thought she was coming to school because she was naughty!”
For Schmidt, the decision to donate her kidney was easy. After talking to her family and getting tested for a match, she boxed up the good news in a pretty pink package and had Natasha and her grandmother open it.
“I figured I’m O-negative blood and it did just come to me. I think we’re all brought to a certain place and time for a reason.”
After reading “It’s a match,” on the card, Natasha thanked and hugged her teacher. But after the adults asked if she knew what the note meant, the sweet little girl shook her head no… though she did get more excited when she found out some treats may be involved.
“We can get a popsicle where I was … in the hospital?” Natasha asks before giving her teacher a second hug.
Although Natasha doesn’t fully realize what her teacher’s actions mean now, down the road they will influence her little life forever.
Check out the moment in the video below! This kind of selfless kindness needs to be shown to the world.
