Jitterbug Dancing Duo Wows Spectators With Surprise Halfway Through Performance.

Gary and Charlotte Chaney are well known across the jitterbug dancing scene. Their meticulous moves and engaging routines have captivated audiences for decades.

And that’s no exaggeration. The husband-and-wife duo started dancing together when they were teenagers back in the 1950s! They certainly know a thing or two about getting their dance on, and in the jitterbug community, people clamor to see them perform. What they did during one 2007 performance, however, was something no one was expecting.

At Chicago’s Windy City Jitterbug Club event that year, the iconic pair hit the floor and started their routine as they’d done countless times before.

Their moves were intricate, meticulous, sharp, and always on point. They donned flashy black and silver outfits and moved around the floor like people half their age. (It is just a number, after all.)

As usual, they did not disappoint. But then something odd happened. Another woman in an outfit matching Charlotte’s stepped onto the dance floor about two minutes into the performance.

People watching were probably a little confused, but there was no need to worry! It was their friend Debbie Wheelis, and as viewers soon figured out, she was there to join in on the fun!

Without missing a beat (and we mean that quite literally), she hopped in alongside Charlotte to complete the complex routine. Beyond being a super-lucky guy, Gary was a total pro when it came to coordinating the dance with his wife and their friend.

And as it turns out, it’s something the three of them have done on and off for a while now! After this performance, they took a similar routine to a Swing Into Fall event put on by the Lake of the Ozark’s Swing Dance Club, of which Gary and Charlotte are actually founding members! Needless to say, it’s always a hit.

Watch the whole routine unfold below and share to spread their entertaining performance with others!
