Jim Carrey to Start in Live-Action Version of “The Jetsons”

Jim Carrey is an incredibly talented actor. His physical comedy and facial expressions are unmatched by nearly anyone in Hollywood today. Sometimes, Jim’s so good at changing his face he almost appears cartoon-like. That ability will come in handy as Warner Bros. officially announced a new live-action version of The Jetsons starring Jim Carrey. Warner Bros. shared the news in a release but gave very little information about the upcoming project other than that fans should see it in 2027.

In the Hanna-Barbera Cartoon, George Jetson was a dad raising a teenage daughter, Judy, and son Elroy, with his wife, Jane. Of course, they had Rosie to help, and George’s K-9 best friend, Astro, was always up for an adventure. Jim Carrey may play George Jetson in the upcoming film, or it may be another role completely. As of right now, it’s all speculation. Fans loved hearing the news about finally seeing The Jetsons in live action.

“Imo, Carrey as George Jetson is inspired casting, but the real question is: who are they getting to play Jane and voice Rosie the Robot?” A fan asked.

Others think all The Jetsons need is Jim. “Jim Carrey carrying another classic cartoon franchise on his back. If anyone can pull off George Jetson’s chaos, it’s him.”

We have to believe that Jim would take this comment as a huge compliment.

“Jim Carrey is essentially a human cartoon, so playing George Jetson fits his physical comedy perfectly,” a fan wrote.

Others aren’t so sure but look forward to what Jim Carrey will bring to the franchise.
