“It is with heavy and electric hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, James Lowe – lead singer and founder of The Electric Prunes. He passed away peacefully of natural causes on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, surrounded by music, our incredible mom, and the three of us – his kids: Lisa, Cameron, and Skylar,” his family wrote.

James Lowe’s family statement continued, “Dad leaves behind a legacy of sound, love, and boundless creativity. At the center of it all WaS our amazing mom, Pamela – his guiding star, enduring muse, and wife of 62 years. We know how deeply he cherished this community, and we feel that love too. In his words – Rock On! And we will. The Lowe Family.”

Fans Posted Kind Messages To James Lowe’s Family After His Death

The news of James Lowe’s death saddened his fans, who shared messages of support with his family.

“God bless his soul, and thanks for all the music he shared with us. Thanks for everything,” a fan wrote.

Another reminded fans of the rocker’s indelible mark on music. “My sincere condolences to the Lowe family and to all who know him well. James you were and still are a very important person when it comes to laying the foundation of Sparks. Rest in peace.”

This James Lowe fan thanked him for the psychedelic rock memories. “Ahh I’m so sorry. He gave me 45 years of Prunes magic! A true innovator and legend. Soar high James!!”
