“I’ll Trade You A Game Ball For A Bite Of Your Ice Cream”

A kid reaches through the barrier at a Banana Ball game to feed an umpire a bit of ice cream. He holds out a spoon as the umpire waits, mouth open

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor sports. But no matter if you’re a fan in the stands or an umpire in the field, one thing remains true: It can get way too hot. You’ll want to drink some water to cool down, of course, but sometimes you want a tastier option. So, when the umpire in the video below noticed a young fan eating ice cream, he simply had to ask if he could have a bite.

But this umpire was not going to simply snag some ice cream and be on his way. On the contrary, he offered the kid something in return: a ball from the game. Check out this hilarious and wholesome interaction in the viral video below!

Okay, so maybe the umpire got more than one bite… but the trade was still very much even! Besides, this umpire works hard enough to deserve an ice cream break every once in while. Speaking of which, at first glance, you might assume this is a baseball game… and you wouldn’t be entirely wrong.

“The only baseball game I would ever go to. I have sat through too many major league games,” someone writes in the comments, another person admitting, “… that dude moves better than I do… and I’ll be 27 this year.”
