It’s Dolly Parton Approved! Band Performs Powerful “Jolene” Sequel On AGT.

You know you’ve done something right when you get Dolly Parton’s seal of approval on a song – especially when it’s a twist on one of her own hits!

Mississippi band Chapel Hart was able to pull that feat off with their “America’s Got Talent” audition. Together, these two sisters, Danica and Devynn Hart, and their cousin, Trea Swindle, created a follow-up to “Jolene,” the country classic where Parton sings to a woman she fears may try and persuade her significant other to leave their relationship.

In the original, Parton pleads that Jolene not try and take her love, but as Chapel Hart put it, “… we could not be still fighting over the same man so we decided to tell her, ‘You can have him, Jolene.'”

With an upbeat tempo and powerful lyrics, this talented trio put on a high-energy performance that easily had the audience on their feet. They lit up the stage with their confidence and charisma, and the joy they exuded was, as Heidi Klum said, infectious!

When Simon Cowell asked about their musical journey, they shared that although they’ve been trying to break into the industry in Nashville for years, it’s been difficult, in part, because “country music doesn’t always look like us.”

“You know what you’ve got to do sometimes?” Cowell replied. “You’ve just got to break down that door. And you may have just broken down the door with that performance, trust me.”

Proof of this continues to pour in! In addition to getting a Golden Buzzer and over 5 million views on YouTube, the Queen of Country herself has seen and responded to their audition.

Wow! After a difficult couple of years struggling to break into the industry, these talented ladies are suddenly taking the music world by storm – and we absolutely love it!
