Is This Football Star Faster Than A Reindeer? See Which Animals He Can Outrun.

football player and capybara

Zachariah Branch has taken the football world by storm with his speed and skill. This freshman is a wide receiver at the University of South Carolina, but his claim to fame is his speed.

Zachariah has clocked in at 26 miles per hour while running on a treadmill!

To put that into perspective, Usain Bolt, one of the fastest people in the world, reached 27.33 mph during a race. Zachariah Branch is putting up a solid fight!

This hilarious video compares Zachariah’s speed to the speed of some well-known animals, including an elephant, a capybara, and a reindeer. Zachariah was surprised to find out some of the animals he could outrun!

Some of the comments pointed out a few other funny realities of running that fast.

“Bro can speed in a residential on foot,” said one commenter, pointing out that Zachariah can run over 25 mph.

Another commenter did the math to figure out how quickly Zachariah could run a mile.

“2.3 minute mile is crazy.” Many athletic runners shoot for six or even eight-minute-miles. 2.3 minutes per mile is absolutely nuts!

Check out the full video below to learn more about Zachariah’s incredible speed (as well as the speed of some of the fastest animals on earth!).
