When flowers come to your door, most people don’t give it a second thought. However, it was unexpected when an injured delivery driver showed up bearing flowers. This wasn’t his first delivery to this address, and the second one wasn’t on his delivery schedule. In a viral TikTok video, a family had left a gift of snacks and a monetary “tip” for the delivery driver.
In the posting, the family explained that they had left $20 for the driver to get himself a meal. They left him some snacks for the road with a note saying, “You make our holiday shopping easy…” You can hear the driver exclaiming, “This is amazing.” When opening the box containing the tip, the gesture had him almost speechless.
The injured delivery driver was so taken that he turned toward the Ring camera to say thank you. He told the family he had broken his foot but had to continue working because he had no extra cash. He was stumbling over his words of appreciation for the small gesture of kindness.
After grabbing a couple of snacks, a bottle of water, and the tip, the injured delivery driver said “Thank you” several more times, then returned to his route. But he returned two hours later. He was no longer wearing his delivery vest, and he was carrying something special for the homeowner. By now, he’s getting comfortable talking to the Ring camera as he explains this extra visit.
The homeowner has tried to reach out to the driver after posting this video but could not locate him at the time of this writing. Although many people have taken to leaving out snacks and drinks for delivery drivers, this one hit home because of his reaction. This small gesture of humanity deeply touched this driver. You hear a tremble in the tone of his voice as he repeatedly says “Thank you” and gushes about how wonderful it is to receive recognition.
