After losing control of his vehicle, a semi truck driver found himself in a life-threatening situation — thankfully, first responders came to the rescue in the nick of time! On December 23, at around 8:15 a.m., the 18-wheeler nearly drove over the side of a Florida overpass. Although the trailer remained on the bridge, the cab was left hanging over the side with the driver inside! Thankfully, Palm Beach County Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene with a fire truck ladder to get the man down.
According to Fox 5, the fire department posted a video of the semi truck rescue on social media. This chilling footage shows how first responders were able to remove the driver from the precariously dangling vehicle. One they got the man to safety, they immediately took him to the hospital. There, they confirmed that he had not sustained any serious injuries.
In their video report, Fox 5 also shared that this wasn’t the first accident to occur on this particular overpass. However, it seems that the two other collisions were caused by distracted drivers filming the road on their devices.
