“I Couldn’t Do It Without A Little Help.” Husband Enlists Wife’s Late Father For Heartwarming Gender Reveal.

When big moments happen in life, all we want is to celebrate them with the ones we love. For Jennifer Jones-Prothro, that included the birth of her ninth child. Unfortunately, just the year before, her beloved Dad passed away from cancer. When he was still alive, he’d always insist on not knowing the gender of Jennifer’s kids until they were born.

So, when it came time for Jennifer and her husband, James, to learn the gender of their latest child, the expecting Mom asked that her husband find a creative way to reveal it to her. As a music producer with a home recording studio, he knew exactly what to do. Using old voicemail recordings of Jennifer’s late Father, he edited together a message that made it sound as though he was speaking to her in that very moment to create the sweetest gender reveal.

“Hello, Jenny, this is your father,” the message starts. “I want to let you know that it is a girl.”

To say that Jennifer was shocked to hear his voice would be an understatement. As soon as the heartwarming message ended, she burst into tears.

“The last person I expected to hear was my dad,” Jennifer said. “I wouldn’t have wanted to learn it any other way.”
