Instead of picking up the latest text on the human condition, “Human Library” gives students the chance “check out” a human and sit down and learn about their life.
Each “Human Book” challenges a different stereotype – alcoholism, ADHD, bipolar, brain-damaged, homeless and many others – and gives students the chance to spend a day in conversation with people living in the midst of our stereotypes.
“In an environment like this, it becomes much easier to realize that we’re all human beings, trying to make it like everyone else.”
Check out the eye-opening video below! We could all use a trip to the Human Library.
