Since Dolly Parton’s shocking death on August 25, 2026, fans have flocked to her star and left flowers, small gifts, and tributes. Per NBC Los Angeles, a visitor recently noticed vandalism and contacted the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to report it. Dolly’s name appeared to have been scratched out.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Got to Work Immediately on Dolly Parton’s Star
In a statement shared with People, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce assured fans it would repair Dolly Parton’s star.
“A fan went to the star yesterday and reported on social media that the star was vandalized with many scratches,” Ana Martinez shared. “From the photo she posted, it does appear the star was vandalized with scratches.”
Dolly’s star should be ready for public view again soon. “This repair was set up late last week and the crew just completed the first part of making said repairs,” the statement continued. “The star repairs are currently ongoing and are done by the Hollywood Historic Trust which maintains and repairs the Walk of Fame stars. The star will cure and will be polished on Friday for fans to enjoy.”
Dolly Parton received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1984 alongside Sylvester Stallone. The Walk of Fame shared a sweet message about Dolly on Instagram following her death.
“Few individuals possessed the innate ability to unite people like Dolly Parton, who died on Aug. 25 at 80 after a brief battle with cancer. Parton received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1984, and her death was immediately felt on the boulevard more than 40 years later,” the post reads.
“Fans flocked from far and wide to pay tribute to the Queen of Country at her star on Aug. 25, leaving flowers, photos and even boxes of her Fabulously Fudgy Brownie Mix – just one of her many business ventures.”
