A “fighting spirit” is difficult to define, but we know one when we see it!
Animal rescuer Corbin Maxey has been working with animals for his whole life. He runs a reserve with over 30 exotic animals, from alligators to pythons, giant tortoises, and more. At the end of 2022, Corbin shared a video on his YouTube channel that has been viewed millions of times to date. In it, he introduces the world to Number 5, a baby tortoise who was born with a damaged shell. Without human intervention, Number 5 would have died, but Corbin is able to nurse him back to health so he can join his turtle siblings!
