Too often, deliver drivers don’t get the recognition they deserve for being excellent at their jobs. Then you have folks like this Amazon driver who go so above and beyond for a customer, it’s truly inspiring. Chantell Ankerfelt experienced this first-hand when a delivery driver, quite literally, helped save her dog. This story takes place around Christmas time, meaning that folks like Amazon drivers are busier than ever.
Unfortunately, this is also when a fence board in Chantell’s backyard became loose without her knowing. By the time she is made aware, her two dogs are already gone. One is a Frenchy named Beau and the other is a Boston named Lola. Luckily, someone quickly locates Beau and contacts Chantell about him.
Around that same time, an Amazon delivery driver approaches her house. Just outside the door is Lola. She is visibly afraid. Rather than dropping off Chantell’s package and leaving, this caring driver takes the time to call Chantell who is 40 minutes away from home.
Amazon Driver Goes Above and Beyond for Stranger’s Dog
Better yet, he offers to help. With Chantell’s permission to get Lola inside, his mission begins. For quite a while, he does everything he can to gently coax her inside — but nothing works. Finally, he and Chantell devise a new plan.
Chantell gives him the code needed to get inside from the garage. This allows him to open the front door in hopes that Lola will feel more comfortable going inside — and they’re right! As soon as the door opens, this adorable pup can’t get inside faster.
“I can’t believe the time and energy my Amazon driver went through to help my dog today,” Chantell shares. “He is my unsung hero and I hope that everyone will help make him feel special. I wish I knew his name so I could properly thank him. He AND the other unsung hero who saved my other dog today after they escaped are exactly what the world needs more of.”
As far as Chantell’s dogs go, it’s safe to say they’re happier, and safer, than ever!
“The fence is fixed and both dogs are getting all the belly rubs!” she adds.
