Life is just better at grandma and grandpa’s house. That’s a well-known fact among grandchildren everywhere, and it turns out, dogs know it too. And no offense to his owner, but Chance is almost certainly counting down the days until she leaves town again.
Midlothian, Virginia resident Meghan Specksgoor adopted Chance, a German shepherd mix, from the Richmond Animal League two years ago, and they’ve been best friends ever since.

But a few months ago, she had to go on a weekend visit to New York City and she couldn’t bring him with her. Why put him in a kennel when she knew her dad, Larry, would be happy to do the honors?
While Meghan was away, Larry knew she’d be missing her little buddy, so he set her a series of photos of Chance’s visit. Of course, those pics made it onto her Twitter account and they soon went viral, because who doesn’t love seeing such a handsome pup get the royal treatment?

Chance may have missed Meghan, but he certainly didn’t have time to pine away for her. His schedule was booked solid!

Grandpa wants to know what kind of take out I can have? We are starving.

Hi mom, it’s me again. We had a picnic and are going to the nail salon now. Gramps said if I’m good I can have ice cream when I’m done. What kind do I like again?
Chance got his little manicure at Petco. How much you wanna bet he also got a toy or two just for being a good boy? And just for the record, gramps wanted to make sure Chance wasn’t going to be buzzing out on a sugar high the rest of the day, so he got sugar-free frozen yogurt.

Meghan decided to share the texts because she figured they’d make others laugh as much as they did her. Her dad, she explained, has been begging her for grandchildren and she tells him he’ll just have to settle for grandpups for now. So “this is how he jokes about not getting grandbabies.â€
Now we all want a weekend visit with Larry. But can we get pedicures, too?
