When Giovanni was two years old, doctors diagnosed the toddler with Schwartz-Jampel Syndrome. The rare form of Dwarfism attacked the young boy in a way that had never been documented before. To date, Giovanni has had to undergo nine surgeries to date with more possible in the future.

That being said, for everything Giovanni has been through, the guy has an incredible outlook and attitude towards life. Recently, Giovanni was featured on the TLC series ‘Two In A Million’ a show dedicated to honor exceptional people undergoing incredible hardship. Giovanni’s sunny personality and happy-go-lucky countenance make people take a second look at life and realize how lucky we all are.
In the video below, we catch up with Giovanni five weeks after his latest hip surgery. The young boy had been suffering with hip pain for months after a dislocation that was related to his condition, but things were finally looking up.
The brave boy wanted to try his legs out right away. So just a few hours after doctors removed Giovanni’s body cast and cleared him to go home, he begged his parents for the chance.
The boy’s father cautioned him to stop if it became to difficult to walk, and his mother asked the same…But the sweetest part is at the end when his parents tearfully envelope the happy boy in a hug.
