George Foreman Was A Man Of Great Faith

In 2023, George Foreman told Faithwire that his mother often prayed for him early in his career. He said that if he found fame and fortune, he wouldn’t need God, and neither would she. But his mother never gave up on her son or God.

“But she never stopped praying,” George said. “Then I became a minister … and she told me once, ‘At first, I didn’t believe in it. But now, you’re my pastor. I believe in you.’ She said, ‘You’re my preacher.’ That is the most touching thing that ever happened to me. She believed in me and she believed in what I was doing.”

Fans knew of George Foreman’s love of prayer and offered well wishes to his family following his death.

One wrote on Instagram, “Big George Foreman was the definition of change.”

Another shared, “A true champion of faith, family, and purpose. Our prayers are with the Foreman family.”

This person put it best, “One of the greatest boxers in boxing history and had a soul as kind as any other, a man who accomplished so many legendary things in and out of the ring. Rest in peace, Big George.”
