In the first couple of slides, Hihi explained that she didn’t necessarily want a new father figure as a kid. She was pretty happy just being with her mom! However, she soon learned that change can sometimes be a good thing.

“Mommy said she wanted me to meet her new friend,” the woman recalled in her post. “But I liked our duo the way it was.”

Ed was determined to prove himself worthy as both a partner to the single mom and a new dad to her daughter. According to the slideshow, he stopped at nothing to let these two know how much he cared about them. However, it was around the time the family adopted a dog that Hihi finally started thinking of this man as her father.

“Dad said yes to getting a dog and now I have a little brother,” the woman wrote. “I guess that makes him a father of two now.”

Ed became the best new dad anyone could ask for.

As time went on, this girl’s new dad was there for all of her most important moments. He bought her the perfect prom dress, attended both her high school and college graduations, and even traveled the world with her!
