French Women Try To Puzzle Out How American Whipped Cream Works In Silly Video

Two women hold onto a can of whipped cream. They're concentrating as they read the instructions.

There’s a reason why so many people include “travel the world” on their bucket lists. Our world is full of fascinating places with beautiful cultures — who wouldn’t want the chance to experience as many as possible!? When traveling to these places, however, there are a few things to keep in mind. For example, you’ll want to be familiar with the country’s local laws and customs. Oh, and you’ll may want to double check how their whipped cream cans work.

Was that last one a bit too specific? You’d be surprised by how relevant it is for some travelers. Lena Deme is one of them. Years ago, she and a few others traveled all the way from France to the United States. At some point, one of them wanted to eat a bowl of fruit with whipped cream on top. But when she went to add the whipped cream, she discovered that the American version is a bit different… (Note that the age of the video is reflected in the audio quality)

These women had a lot going against them, it seems. Not only do they not speak fluent English, but they’ve never used a whipped cream can quite like this before. No matter how hard they try, they simply can’t grasp what they should be doing. Needless to say, their experience is baffling for both the French women and every American who watches this hilarious video.

French Women Visiting the United States Are Puzzled Over the Design of American Whipped Cream Cans

“Beautiful to see someone experiencing something for the first time,” one commenter writes. Others hilariously add, “Gimmie that damn thing” and “I like how they were trying to milk it like it was a teat from a cow.”

If you’re American, you’re likely wondering: What the heck are whipped cream cans like in France? Luckily, Lena shared a photo of one herself, as shown above. Many people compare it to a can of shaving cream in the States. In other words, there’s a button on the side that you press down on. The more you know!
