It was a quiet morning at Lake O’ the Pines in Texas when a fisherman set out in a small outboard boat to cast his line. He noticed right away that there as something amiss; a large black object poked from the water’s surface about 40 feet from the boat ramp. When he got closer, he realized it was a Jeep.
The man called for help right away, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrived in 18 minutes. Wading into the water was too dangerous, so they called a tow truck to pull the vehicle back onto dry land. But when the fisherman and the tow truck driver took the boat to the Jeep so they could attach the winch, they got the surprise of their lives. There was a woman inside, and she was still alive!
The two men pulled her out of the Jeep and brought her back to dry land. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia, and authorities say it’s incredible that she survived at all! We don’t yet know how she wound up trapped in the car, she believes she was stuck in there for hours. Thank goodness this fisherman came along when he did!
