Dog Tumbles 300 Ft Onto An Inaccessible Beach, Prompting A Coast Guard Rescue Mission.

A two-photo collage. The first photo shows a US Coast Guard member being lowered from a helicopter. The view is from a camera on the helicopter. The second photo shows a German shepherd stranded on an inaccessible beach, as seen through US Coast Guard footage.

A German shepherd and their owner were enjoying a day at Ecola State Park in Oregon when one misstep changed the trajectory of their day. The poor pup was close to the edge of a cliff, sending her tumbling 300-feet down. She landed on an inaccessible beach, making a rescue mission tricky. Still, the US Coast Guard were ready to do whatever it would take to save her!

The frightened dog did her best to get onto higher ground, but powerful waves repeatedly pushed her back against the rocky shore. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard had deployed a helicopter and were making their way to the stranded pup. Carefully, one of the crew members were lowered from the helicopter.

With time and effort, they were able to grab onto the dog and bring her to safety. As frightening as the whole ordeal was for canine and human alike, we’re happy to report that the German shepherd was quickly taken to a vet and is doing alright!

Watch the US Coast Guard pull off a seamless rescue mission in the video below.
